CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Chester County will experience a range of weather changes over the next week. High pressure is expected to build briefly today before giving way to developing low pressure that will pass just south of Chester County on Monday. Tuesday will bring a return of high pressure before Wednesday brings a dry cold front crossing the area at night. High pressure will return briefly on Thursday before another storm system moves in for the start of next weekend. Chester County residents should be prepared for days with changing weather conditions.

Through Tonight

It’s shaping up to be a pleasant day here, as a shortwave trough pushing offshore this morning combined with zonal mid-level flow and weak high pressure allows for sunny skies and mild temperatures. With a high near 60 and wind gusts up to 30 mph, it’ll be perfect for outdoor activities. The cold front that moved in earlier will also move out to sea as the evening progresses, leaving clear skies overhead with lows around 38 overnight. Monday Through Tuesday Night

Monday will be a wet and windy day with rain expected mainly after 2 pm. High near 55, with east winds 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon and gusts reaching up to 20 mph. There is a 90% chance of precipitation and new amounts of between a tenth to a quarter of an inch possible. However, Monday night there could still be rain likely mainly before 8 pm. It will be mostly cloudy with a low of around 37 and north winds of 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%, but only small amounts are predicted. Tuesday, however, will be partly sunny with a high near 51 but north winds around 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, which could prove chilly. Tuesday night is forecasted to remain mostly cloudy and cold, with an anticipated low of around 32°F.

Wednesday Through Saturday

After a generally pleasant start to the week, temperatures are forecasted to begin cooling off on Wednesday with sunny skies and a high of 54. Wednesday night skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature of 35. Cloud cover is expected to increase into Thursday with a high of 51 and a low of 34, partly cloudy at night. Rain may arrive by the end of the week on Friday as mostly cloudy skies move in with a high near 60 and chances of precipitation at 50%. Rain is likely overnight with a low near 51 and a 70% chance of precipitation. The weekend may see some rain as well, Saturday is forecasted to be partly sunny with highs around 69 and a 50% chance of rain.
