Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it will resurface Interstate 95 and numerous state highways across Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. The department plans to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway in the Philadelphia Region.
The work schedules and locations are:
Philadelphia
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 8:00 PM through 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Columbus Boulevard interchanges for concrete road patching;
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lance closure is scheduled on the southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) off ramp to Ridge Avenue for inlet repair; and
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Adams Street and Summerdale Avenue for trench work.
Bucks County
- Thursday, May 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Swamp Road between Mill Creek Road and Old Sacketts Ford Road in Wrightstown Township for resurfacing operations.
- Tuesday, May 16, and Wednesday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (State Road) between Hollow Road and Dickson Drive in Charlestown Township for resurfacing operations.
- Monday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Providence Road between Bishop Hollow Rd and Steeplechase Drive in Upper Providence Township for resurfacing operations.
- Sunday, May 14, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Old Welsh Road between Route 63 (Edge Hill Road) and Fitzwatertown Road in Abington Township for paving;
- Sunday, May 14, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) between Airy Street and Johnson Highway in Norristown for milling and paving;
- Monday, May 15, and Tuesday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) between Airy Street and Johnson Highway in Norristown for milling and paving;
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Knapp Road between U.S. 202 (Parkway) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) in Montgomery Township for utility adjustments;
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) between Airy Street and Johnson Highway in Norristown for utility adjustments;
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Green Hill Road in Worcester and Perkiomen townships and Skippack Borough for paving;
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road/Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between Geerdes Boulevard and Matsonford Road in Upper Merion Township and Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for utility adjustments;
- Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Old Welsh Road between Route 63 (Edge Hill Road) and Fitzwatertown Road in Abington Township for milling, paving and utility adjustments;
- Tuesday, May 16, through Friday, May 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road/Fourth Street/River Road/Front Street) between Geerdes Boulevard and Matsonford Road in Upper Merion Township and Bridgeport and West Conshohocken boroughs for milling and paving; and
- Wednesday, May 17, through Friday, May 19, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Knapp Road between U.S. 202 (Parkway) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) in Montgomery Township for paving.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
