PennDOT Announces Weekend Detour on Old Lancaster Road for Pipe Replacement

Road Closed

EASTTOWN TWP, PA — Motorists planning to travel through Easttown Township in Chester County this coming Saturday should brace for detours and potential delays. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has slated pipe replacement work on Old Lancaster Road, necessitating a day-long road closure that will impact local traffic flow.

The work is scheduled for April 6, from the early morning hours of 6:00 AM stretching until 3:00 PM. During this time, a segment of Old Lancaster Road will be inaccessible between Waterloo Road and Devon State Road. To navigate around the closure, drivers will be rerouted onto Devon State Road, then Conestoga Road, and finally North Valley Forge Road before rejoining their intended path.

PennDOT assures that despite the detour, residents within the affected area will still have access to their homes, though non-local traffic will need to follow the specified detour route. Given the expected disruption, those traveling in the vicinity are encouraged to allocate extra time for their journeys to account for potential backups and delays. As with any outdoor construction work, the timing of this project is contingent on favorable weather conditions.

Drivers are urged to exercise patience and plan ahead when traveling through Easttown Township this Saturday. By adhering to the detour and allocating additional travel time, motorists can help minimize congestion and navigate the area with ease as PennDOT works to improve the state’s roadways.
