BERWYN, PA — Tredyffrin Township’s project to replace the Howellville Road Bridge over Norfolk-Southern’s railroad, located on Howellville Road between Bodine Road and the Field of Dreams/PECO entrance, is gearing up to begin demolition and construction activities this month.
Beginning Monday, October 19, 2020, the Howellville Road Bridge will be closed to traffic between Bodine Road and the Field of Dreams/PECO Berwyn Complex Driveway along Howellville Road.
The closure is expected to last until the completion of the bridge replacement project, which is expected in May 2021. Traffic will follow the approved PennDOT detour route which will use Cassatt Road and Swedesford Road (Route 252).
The detour plan can be seen below. Local traffic will still be allowed to access their properties on either side of the bridge, but there will be no access across the railroad until the completion of the project.
