Don’t Be Caught Off Guard: Bridge Work Scheduled on U.S. 422 & N Gulph Road

PennDOT announced that U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County will undergo overhead bridge work next week. This is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s project to improve the Turnpike and its bridges between milepost 324 and milepost 326, to sustain smooth operations.

The work schedules and locations are as follows:

  • May 8th and May 11th, between 9 PM and 6 AM the following morning, lane closures and traffic paces are planned on U.S. 422 in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202;
  • From May 8th to May 11th, between 6 AM to 5 PM, lane closures are planned on N. Gulph Road in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202;
  • From May 8th to May 11th, between 7 PM and 6 AM the following morning, lane closures and traffic paces are planned on N. Gulph Road in both directions between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202;
  • On May 9th, between 9 PM and 6 AM the following morning, lane closures and traffic paces are planned on westbound U.S. 422 between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202;
  • On May 10th, between 9 PM and 6 AM the following morning, lane closures and traffic paces are planned on eastbound U.S. 422 between 1st Avenue and U.S. 202.

Motorists should be cautious and anticipate slow or stopped traffic approaching this area. The execution of the project is subject to weather conditions. A PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit authorizes the Pennsylvania Turnpike to complete this undertaking.
