Chester County Road Closures for Maintenance to Cause Delays

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that maintenance activities will take place on Stricklersville Road and Friendship Church Road in Chester County next week.

On Monday, June 3, and Tuesday, June 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Friendship Church Road will be closed between Route 10 (Limestone Road) and Gumtree Road in Highland Township for base repair. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 10 and Gumtree Road.

From Tuesday, June 4, through Thursday, June 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Stricklersville Road will be closed between Route 841 (Chesterville Road) and Appleton Road in Elk and Franklin townships for pipe replacement. During this period, motorists should follow the detour via Route 841, Route 896 (New London Road), and Appleton Road.

Local access will be maintained. Drivers should plan for extra travel time as backups and delays are expected. All activities depend on weather conditions.
