West Chester Police Investigate Alleged Assault of Female

WEST CHESTER, PA — A citizen called police on Saturday, July 17, 2021, reporting a man assaulting a female passenger on the side of the road in the 1000 block of Downingtown Pike, said West Chester Police. This incident took place between 1:00 to 1:15 PM.

Authorities state the witness observed a white sedan pull off of Downingtown Pike as it appeared a domestic dispute was taking place in the vehicle. The vehicle stopped in the driveway of the PECO Bradford Substation which is just east of the Sugar’s Bridge Nature Area and Trail (1085 Downingtown Pike). A white female believed to be in her twenties fled the vehicle. She was pursued by the male operator who punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground and dragged her back to the vehicle. The male was also described as a white male believed to be in his twenties and of average build.
