NEW GARDEN, PA — The Southern Chester County Regional Police have charged Jacqueline P. Keita, age 49, of Oxford with Retail Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, following an incident of shoplifting.

The alleged theft of merchandise occurred on March 14th, 2020, from a store in the 300 block of Scarlett Road, in New Garden Township.

Charges were delayed pending review of store surveillance, which found  Keita to have taken $71.92 worth of merchandise, that was either not returned or unable to be resold, police say.

Charges were filed in Magisterial District Court 15-4-04 on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.  The case is pending a preliminary hearing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
