WEST CHESTER, PA — Deb Ryan, Chester County District Attorney, announced that Marvin Valenzuea-Lucero has been convicted of one count of Home Improvement Fraud by County Court of Common Pleas Judge Allison Bell Royer after a five-day bench trial.
Authorities state the victim, in this case, was a 90-year-old man who hired the defendant to renovate his house so his relatives could move in to help take care of him.
The victim paid the defendant over $100,000. Valenzuea-Lucero started demolition work in the house and never returned.
Over the next few months, Valenzuea-Lucero repeatedly lied to the victim’s family and to others about how the work was progressing.
Meanwhile, Valenzuea-Lucero spent the victim’s money on personal expenses.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Tom Ost-Prisco and investigated by Detective John Fallon of the Easttown Township Police Department.
