Florida Man Sentenced for 2019 DUI Homicide

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County District Attorney’s Office announced that after pleading guilty to DUI homicide and related charges, Robbie Wharton IV, age 27, of Freeport, FL, was sentenced to 4-12 years in prison by Judge Patrick Carmody for the death of 25-year-old Dominique Jennings. The head-on crash happened in Warwick Township in 2019.

District Attorney Deb Ryan said, “Drugs and this defendant’s criminal behavior caused the tragic death of Dominique Jennings, the consequences of which have impacted the victim’s family in ways no one ever wants to experience. I hope the victim’s family finds some measure of peace with this sentence.”

On November 19, 2019, Pennsylvania State Police received a call from a victim in Elverson whose car had been struck by a neon green Camaro that continued driving after the accident. A few minutes later, State Police received another call from a man in Warwick Township who witnessed the same neon green Camaro strike another car head-on traveling in the opposite direction.

When Pennsylvania State Police arrived on the scene, a Good Samaritan was giving CPR to the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene when EMS personnel arrived. The driver of the car that was struck was transported to an area hospital.

Pennsylvania State Police investigated. Deputy District Attorney Michelle Frei and Assistant District Attorney Zackary Yurick were the prosecutors.
