RSVP Is Seeking Volunteers for Virtual Technology Training Program

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — For nearly 50 years, RSVP has been responding to our communities’ needs by crafting responsive and innovative programming to meet the requirements of students and their families, adults and seniors as well as nonprofit organizations. All programs share one common thread: they utilize volunteers to make a difference.

As demand for services increased with the onset of COVID, RSVP programs shifted to virtual in order to keep volunteers and the public safe.  One program was created as a direct result of the impact of COVID: To help improve the sense of isolation felt by many seniors, RSVP created the Senior Technology Training program to help older adults gain greater comfort using the internet, email, Zoom, and social media so they may connect with friends, family, and community resources.

Senior Technology Training volunteers provide online tutoring on the use of computers, smartphones, and tablets by utilizing technology courses designed specifically for adult learners.

This program will be expanding in Chester County and is in need of additional volunteers who want to help vulnerable community members gain comfort using their preferred devices.

RSVP is seeking volunteers 18+ who can spare 3 hours per week and have basic knowledge of computers, mobile devices, the internet, and apps.  Volunteers will need a computer with a camera and microphone.
