Sappey to Host Veterans Breakfast and Recognition Ceremony

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — State Rep. Christina Sappey is inviting veterans and their families in the 158th Legislative District to join her for a Veterans Breakfast and Recognition Ceremony from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the Kennett Square VFW Post 5467, 704 W. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square.

“This breakfast and recognition ceremony is a small token of appreciation for the veterans in our community,” said Sappey, D-Chester. “Veterans represent the pinnacle of public service. Many have made tremendous sacrifices to protect us and our freedoms. As a member of the state House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, I am committed to providing help and support to our veterans and I am proud to hold this event once again.”

A free, hot breakfast will be provided as well as information on state government-related programs and services available to veterans.

The keynote speaker will be Brigadier General George Schwartz (Ret.) who served as assistant adjutant general of the Pennsylvania National Guard, and as the Deputy Commandant, Reserve Affairs at the U.S. Army War College. He has been mobilized for a number of domestic emergencies and been deployed for two overseas missions. Currently, he is an assistant professor of leadership and the director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Planning & Management Program at Immaculata University.
