HONEY BROOK, PA — The Party for Socialism and Liberation will rally on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 9:30 am in support of and solidarity with Robert T, and Debbie A, who are facing eviction from their trailer home in Honey Brook, and have released the following statement:

“The family was served an eviction notice on June 7, 2022 ordering that they vacate their trailer on Friday, June 17, 2022, by 9:30 am due to an allegedly overdue lot rental, even though the rent was paid through September 2022. The landlords, John and Zonya Stoltzfus… plan to evict Robert, even though Robert has lived in his trailer for 20 years. Even though Robert owns the trailer home and lot rental is paid through September 2022, Judge Kraut, who presided over the eviction hearing, ruled that the landlords could take possession of Robert and Debbie’s home.

“Robert is a caring and gentle man, a loving fiance to Debbie, and a great father to Debbie’s son DJ, who calls Robert ‘Pop’. The family loves to spend time eating together or sitting down to watch a movie in the living room. But they say that it is hard to focus on the small joys in life with all the trials that they have faced. Robert is a disabled adult and takes great pride in his ability to provide through his full-time work. Debbie works part-time as a van driver for a local school bus company and is very busy helping Robert and DJ manage their health problems. But when Robert lost his Social Security benefits early in 2022, the family fell on even tougher times.  Robert and Debbie have the same goals and dreams as the rest of working people: to continue working, to live somewhere safe and affordable, and to eventually save up enough for their marriage.

“The Party for Socialism and Liberation demands that housing be treated as a human right, not a commodity to be bought and sold at the whim of landlords. The Party for Socialism and Liberation has stopped hundreds of evictions and will come to the aid of Robert and Debbie because: Housing is a Human Right! Community members will rally in defense of Robert and Debbie’s right to their home on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 9:30 am at 206 Michaels Rd, Honey Brook, PA 19344.”
