COATESVILLE, PA — The Party for Socialism and Liberation Chester County announced they will hold a rally and raise their voices to demand immediate rent and mortgage relief on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Abdala Field, Coatesville, PA.
“Late on August 26th, the Supreme Court ruled to strike down the federal eviction moratorium, putting 11 million people at imminent risk of eviction. This outrageous ruling was made in a particularly cowardly way – wanting to minimize public backlash, they ruled quickly and released their decision late at night, likely also other world events would dominate the news,” states Randall Scott, spokesperson.
“Over the last year+ of the pandemic, we have seen what the people can achieve when they come together – the conviction of Derek Chauvin ONLY happened because people took to the streets and fought for it. As recently as today, we have seen the police officers and paramedics responsible for the murder of Elijah McClain indicted as a result of 2 years of organizing and protesting.
“Now, as millions of working people in this country are at risk of being evicted, while the pandemic continues to claim over 1000 deaths per day, we can only win if we fight back! Join us in Coatesville to say no to evictions, demand an indefinite extension of the rent moratorium, increased distribution of renter relief funds, and full rent cancelation for all rent debt accumulated during the pandemic!”
