HONEY BROOK, PA — The Party for Socialism and Liberation of Chester County wants you to join them on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 9:00 am in support of a family facing eviction. The family was recently served an eviction notice ordering them to vacate their trailer home in Honey Brook despite their rent reportedly being paid.

On June 17th, 2022, the Party for Socialism and Liberation and members of the community successfully stopped an eviction attempt by landlords on Robert T, who has lived in his trailer for 20 years. The landlords are said to have admitted to the organizers that the first eviction notice had been illegally posted and the landlords were forced to back down in the face of the organized resistance that day.

Regardless, the landlords have already drawn up new eviction papers and plan to serve them to Robert as soon as possible. The Party for Socialism and Liberation is calling on all members of the community to stand with Robert and resist this eviction.

Robert T, a disabled man, his fiance Debbie A, and her son DJ have been struggling to make ends meet since Robert lost his Social Security benefits in early 2022. Despite both working full and part-time respectively, the family has struggled to keep up with their bills and health problems. In an effort to make things work, they reportedly have had to rely on credit cards and loans just to keep the lights on and food on the table.

Unfortunately, their situation is not uncommon in America today. With disabled adults losing benefits and families struggling to make ends meet, it is hard for many people to focus on the small joys in life. However, the family remains optimistic and continues to spend time together whenever they can. They know that they can overcome anything as long as they have each other.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation is an organization that has long fought for the rights of tenants. In their view, housing is a human right, not a commodity to be bought and sold at the whim of landlords. The national organization has stopped hundreds of evictions and will come to the aid of Robert T and Debbie A because, as they say, housing is a human right.

Community members will rally in defense of Robert and Debbie’s home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 9:00 am at 206 Michaels Rd, Honey Brook, PA 19344. All are being welcomed to attend the rally.
