Donors Needed for the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County’s 2020 Adopt-a-Family Program

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC) is looking for donors for their annual Adopt-a-Family program.

Since 2004, the volunteer-run Adopt-a-Family (AAF) program has matched the wish lists of financially distressed DVCCC participants with dedicated donors to brighten their holiday season. The program runs from October to December, and, in addition to participant-specific gifts, AAF collects “open giving” items and gift cards that go directly to DVCCC for year-round distribution.

Last year, 275 adults and children were supported by the program. The participants are survivors of domestic violence and their dependent children who are often facing financial hardship after escaping abusive situations.

One participant shared this sentiment: “The Adopt-a-Family program provided for my family when I couldn’t and helped me keep our family Christmas traditions alive during a difficult time.”

For more information on AAF or to learn how to donate, contact AAF Coordinator Sara Crowell at adopt-a-family@dvcccpa.org.
