WEST CHESTER, PA — In a joint effort between the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department and the Delaware State Police, 42-year-old Lashawnda Jones of Wilmington, Delaware was apprehended Saturday after a string of bank robberies.

Authorities state that on October 22, 2022, at approximately 12:40 PM, officers were dispatched to the TD-Bank located at 1100 block of Wilmington Pike in Westtown Township after it was reported that a bank robbery had just occurred. No one was injured in the robbery; however, a gun was implied. The investigation into the crime began immediately and information obtained by investigators was relayed to police agencies. In a short time, members of the Delaware State Police located Jones’ vehicle in a parking lot of another TD-Bank location in Delaware and took her into custody.

Lashawnda Jones was arrested and charged with bank robbery in connection with the incident that occurred at the TD Bank in Westtown Township, Pennsylvania. Jones is also charged with the attempted robberies at two other banks that occurred on the same day. This is not the first time that Jones has been arrested for robbing this particular bank location (previously Commerce Bank); she was previously arrested in 2004 and 2010. She is currently in custody in Delaware pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
