Warrant Issued for International Fraudster by Kennett Square Police

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in locating 27-year-old Iona Chiciu, who is wanted in connection with unauthorized withdrawals totaling $3,580 from two borough residents’ Citadel Federal Credit Union accounts on January 16 and 17, 2023.

An investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division determined that Chiciu is affiliated with a transnational organized crime group and is currently wanted by numerous agencies including the FBI for similar crimes. Surveillance footage of the thefts was captured at the bank. On March 29, 2023, a warrant was issued for Chiciu’s arrest.

The Kennett Square Police Department is urging anyone who may have been a victim of fraud or any other criminal activity to report it immediately by calling (610) 444-0501 or visiting the police website at kennettsquarepd.org.
