WILMINGTON, DE — Three North Carolina residents are in custody following an alleged armed robbery stemming from a shoplifting incident at Prices Corner Shopping Center in Wilmington.
The Delaware State Police reported that on May 8, 2025, at approximately 10:18 a.m., two suspects, identified as 28-year-old Austin McMasters and 31-year-old Brittany Stacy, allegedly left Gabe’s store on Kirkwood Highway with two shopping carts filled with unpaid merchandise. When confronted by a security employee in the parking lot, McMasters reportedly struck the employee and brandished a handgun before fleeing in the security worker’s vehicle. Stacy is alleged to have escaped in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a third suspect, 26-year-old Tehya Dyer.
Through their investigation, detectives from Troop 2 Criminal Investigations identified McMasters, Stacy, and Dyer as suspects. All three were apprehended later that evening in Virginia, where they remain in custody awaiting extradition to Delaware.
Upon extradition, McMasters faces charges including first-degree robbery (two counts), possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and aggravated menacing. Stacy and Dyer face charges of first-degree robbery (two counts) and second-degree conspiracy.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
