Philly Man Arrested for Felony Retail Theft in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department announced the arrest of 39-year-old Carlos Charriez of Philadelphia on felony retail theft and drug charges.

According to the criminal complaint, on March 23, 2023, at approximately 8:35 am, West Chester Police responded to the area of the Giant Food Store, 698 Downingtown Pike, for the report of a retail theft in progress. The reporting party stated the male left the store and was walking toward Downingtown Pike. Officers made contact with Carlos Charriez in the 500 block of W. Marshall Street. Positive identification was made from the reporting party and Charriez was placed under arrest.

Charriez was charged with felony retail theft, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The items that were stolen and recovered were various allergy medications totaling over $600.00.

He is currently being held at Chester County Prison. A preliminary hearing is pending.
