Philadelphia Police Investigate Gunpoint Robbery in West Philadelphia Family Dollar Store

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating an alleged gunpoint robbery that took place at a Family Dollar store in West Philadelphia on January 23rd, 2024.

According to reports, just before 7:30 PM, a male individual entered the store located at 5716 Baltimore Avenue. It is alleged that he approached the register, produced a black and silver handgun, and demanded money. Authorities say the suspect made off with approximately $200 before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public not to approach this individual if sighted but to contact 911 immediately. Those with any information about this crime or the suspect can submit a tip by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477) or texting a tip to the same number. All tips are assured to be confidential.
