Philadelphia Man Arrested for Theft, Over $1200 Worth of Merchandise Recovered

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department announced the arrest of 52-year-old Angel Rodriguez of Philadelphia on theft and related charges.

Authorities state that on November 13, 2022, at approximately 6:22 PM, Police responded to Walgreens for the report of a male and female leaving the Giant Food Store parking lot with a shopping cart full of items. Officers located the female outside of the Walgreens located at 698 Downingtown Pike waiting for the male who was inside. The male, identified as Angel Rodriguez, exited the store and officers determined that another retail theft just occurred due to him having stolen items on his person. Rodriguez and the female were arrested for retail theft and other related charges. A search incident to arrest was conducted on the property and it was determined that over $1200.00 worth of merchandise was stolen from various stores.

Rodriguez was charged with the following offenses:

  • Retail theft
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Conspiracy

He is currently being held at the Chester County Prison awaiting arraignment. A preliminary hearing date is to be determined.
