WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County District Attorney’s office announced that Walter Williams, age 33, of Philadelphia, was arrested on May 23, 2022, and charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and other related charges for selling fentanyl and heroin in Chester County. At the time of Williams’ arrest, Chester County Detectives and High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas seized 125 grams of raw fentanyl, 90 bags of packaged fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia from a motel in Glen Mills where he was staying.

The defendant’s preliminary hearing was on July 8, 2022, and he is currently being held at Chester County Prison on $150,000 bail set by Magisterial District Judge Mark Lieberman.

Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan noted that “considering it takes far less than a gram for fentanyl to be lethal, this seizure by Chester County Detectives and HIDTA had the potential to cause hundreds of drug overdose deaths.”

In March of 2022, Chester County Detectives and the local High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas task force began investigating the defendant after receiving information that he was making regular drug deliveries to Chester County and surrounding counties.

Over the course of three months, investigators made three controlled buys of suspected heroin/fentanyl from the defendant in East Bradford Township. The first purchase took place on April 21st and consisted of five bundles of the suspected drugs. The second purchase, made just five days later on April 26th, was for ten bundles of the same suspected drugs. The third and final purchase was made on May 4th, again for ten bundles of the same suspected drugs.
