Parkesburg Police Asking for Home Surveillance Video to Aid Investigation

Police News

PARKESBURG, PA — Parkesburg Borough Police are asking for the public’s help to provide home surveillance video from multiple streets. Police are looking for videos from 1st Avenue to 8th Avenue from Friday between 6 AM and 7:30 AM.

Authorities state that on June 17, 2022, just before 7:30 AM, police were called to investigate a reckless driver that had crashed at the intersection of Maple and E. Bridge Streets. The driver and his male passenger climbed from the overturned vehicle and ran from the scene. Police pursued the suspects on foot, taking the driver into custody a short time later in West Sadsbury Township. There was no immediate threat to the community, contrary to inaccurate social media posts of an active shooter incident.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Kyle Laird of West Sadsbury Township, has been arrested and is being held in the Chester County Prison on multiple criminal and traffic offenses. His male accomplice remains on the run.

Anyone with information about this crime or these suspects, or residents discovering a video of the incident or suspects, is asked to contact Detective Rodney Discher at 610-857-3535 or 610-383-7000.

The Parkesburg Borough Police Department was assisted by the Oxford Borough, East Fallowfield Township, West Caln Township Police Departments, and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Information is subject to change at any time as additional details may emerge. Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
