Oxford Police Announces Arrest of Wanted Fugitive

OXFORD, PA — The Oxford Borough Police Department announced the arrest of a wanted fugitive on Sunday.

Darrell Thomas, 38, of Cochranville, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with an alleged incident of burglary, assault, and harassment.

Authorities stated that on October 30, 2022, The Oxford Police received information that wanted suspect, Darrell Thomas, left his parked vehicle along the 400 block of Nottingham Ave. Undercover Officers conducted surveillance on said vehicle. At 2:35 PM, Officers observed Thomas operating another vehicle and pulling up to the parked vehicle. Upon approach to take Thomas into custody, a foot pursuit ensued. Witnesses called 911 when they observed Thomas running across their yards along 400 block 5th Street in East Nottingham Township. The Oxford Police were assisted by Pennsylvania State Police who then observed Thomas on Waterway Road. Thomas ran into a cornfield at the intersection of 5th and Waterway Road and was apprehended shortly after by Troopers at 2:52 PM.

A felony arrest warrant was issued for Thomas by Oxford District Court on October 2, 2022, in connection with an incident where he allegedly forced his way into the victim’s home and made threats of violence.

Thomas was transported to Oxford Borough Police Department for processing and then later transported to Chester County Prison to await arraignment.
