Man Arrested for Robbing PNC Bank in Westtown Township

WESTTOWN TWP, PA — Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department has announced that 27-year-old George Drake Jr. has been arrested and charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, and additional offenses in connection to the robbery of PNC Bank that occurred on August 27, 2022.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the bank, demanded money from PNC Bank staff, and fled the area in a vehicle after obtaining less than $300 in cash. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect was identified as George William Drake Jr from Philadelphia during an investigation conducted by the Westtown-East Goshen Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as assistance from the Chester County Detectives Forensic Unit.

Drake was taken into custody with the assistance of the FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department. He was located in Philadelphia and taken into custody before being extradited to Chester County. Once in Chester County, he was remanded to Chester County Prison where he is awaiting his preliminary hearing.

Drake is currently being held at Chester County Prison pending his preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Martin G. Goch at District Court 15-2-03.
