Man Arrested After Committing Robbery and Struggling With Victim

AVONDALE, PA — A Delaware man was arrested after committing robbery and then struggling with the victim, announced the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department.

The incident occurred Sunday, January 8, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm, at the Sunoco gas station in Avondale, Pennsylvania. The male suspect allegedly took a wallet from the female victim by force and after a struggle, while she was attempting to purchase fuel. Good Samaritans rushed to her aid and the subject fled on foot, discarding the wallet. Police canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results. However, Michael Green of Dover, Delaware was later located in the 8800 block of Gap Newport Pike and taken into custody without incident.

Green was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery
  • Simple Assault
  • Harassment

He was remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post $50,000.00 monetary bail.

The Southern Chester County Regional Police Department was assisted by the Kennett Township Police.
