Lower Oxford Man Loses $2,500 to Phone Scam

LOWER OXFORD TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a phone scam in which the victim was deceived into providing bank account information.

Authorities state that the unknown suspect contacted the 47-year-old male victim from Lower Oxford Township, Chester County on January 13, 2022, and the victim was misled into providing his bank authorization code over the phone. The unknown suspect then withdrew $2,500 from the victim’s bank accounty. TD Bank did return the funds to the victim.

State Police warn residents against disclosing their personal information to callers, as more people still fall victim to fraud.
