WILMINGTON, DE — A 31-year-old man was arrested on multiple gun-related charges after police conducted a vehicle stop that escalated into a brief foot chase.
On April 13, 2025, at approximately 12:18 p.m., officers from the Wilmington Police Department’s Uniformed Services Division conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Maryland Avenue. During the stop, one of the passengers, identified as Ikeem McDole, fled the scene on foot. Officers pursued him, and McDole was taken into custody without incident.
Police reported discovering a loaded .380 caliber handgun in McDole’s possession. The firearm was found to have an obliterated serial number. Investigators also confirmed that McDole was wanted on an unrelated matter.
McDole now faces multiple charges, including two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and resisting arrest.
Following his arrest, McDole was arraigned at the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas. He was subsequently committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution with bail set at $51,000 in cash.
Authorities have emphasized that McDole, like all suspects, is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
