Loaded Gun and Drugs: Wilmington Man Arrested in Late-Night Police Stop

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department has reported the recent arrest of a local man, Antoine Hickman, following allegations involving firearms and controlled substances. The arrest occurred on October 11, 2024, at around 11:00 p.m., during a routine vehicle stop conducted by the Uniformed Services Division in the 2500 block of North Market Street.

Upon making contact with the 45-year-old Hickman, officers conducted a brief investigation that led to his arrest. In the course of this procedure, law enforcement officials reportedly confiscated a loaded 9mm handgun and approximately 24 grams of marijuana from the scene.

Hickman is now facing multiple charges as a result of the incident. These include three counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana. Additionally, Hickman has been charged with several traffic violations related to the stop.

Following his arrest, Hickman was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas. He was subsequently released on a $13,000 secured bail as the legal proceedings continue.

It is crucial to emphasize that these charges are merely allegations at this stage. Hickman is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
