WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County District Attorney’s Office reports that Judge Patrick Carmody has sentenced 37-year-old Andrew Machalette of Lansdale to 2½ to 10 years in prison for multiple counts of invasion of privacy and child pornography, followed by six years of probation. The defendant secretly videotaped women and girls in stages of undress at the homes he shared with his wife and daughters in East Vincent Twp and Limerick in 2013, 2014, and 2018. The defendant pled guilty in September 2021.

DA Deb Ryan said, “The women and girls who were victimized by Andrew Machalette’s voyeurism will be impacted by his reprehensible actions for the rest of their lives. Invading another person’s privacy when they are most vulnerable is traumatizing and devastating to the victims. I hope Judge Carmody’s sentence gives them justice and allows them to heal.”

On Oct. 22, 2019, the defendant’s now ex-wife, gave East Vincent Twp Police three USB flash drives containing video recordings of women and girls changing or undressing inside the home she shared with the defendant in East Vincent Twp. She told investigators that, when confronted, her husband admitted to making the secret recordings.

The victims were unaware they were being recorded.

After obtaining a search warrant, detectives from the Chester County Detectives Computer Forensic Unit examined the flash drives. They found numerous videos of six women and two girls nude or semi-nude in the guest bedroom of the defendant’s house. The camera on the computer in that room was set to record via motion activation.
