Kennett Square Woman Charged With Accident After Pedestrian Hit-And-Run

KENNETT SQUARE, PA —Kennett Square Police Department has announced that 50-year-old Amy McKay of Kennett Square has been charged with an Accident Involving Death-Personal Injury and related traffic offenses, following a hit-and-run accident involving pedestrians. The incident occurred on November 29, 2022, at approximately 7:04 PM in the area of Center Street and West Cypress Street in Kennett Square Borough.

According to the police report, both pedestrians reported that McKay had struck them with her vehicle while they were in the crosswalk and they attempted to get her attention, but she continued driving away. Officers later made contact with McKay at her residence and advised her of the summons she would be receiving in the mail.

McKay has been charged with the following crimes:

  • Accident Involving Death-Personal Injury
  • Duty to Give Information and Render Aid
  • Immediate Notice of Accident to Police
  • Carless Driving

Charges have been filed against McKay in Chester County Magisterial District Court 15-3-04.
