KENNETT SQUARE, PA — On the morning of September 23, 2023, the Kennett Square Police Department (KSPD) officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 Block of Center Street. The purpose was to make contact with a man named Raul Zavala-Nunez, following a request from the New Castle County Police Department (NCCPD) in Delaware.
The NCCPD had issued active warrants for Zavala-Nunez and sought assistance from their counterparts in Kennett Square in making contact with him. Upon arrival, the KSPD officers were able to locate and speak with Zavala-Nunez, who reportedly acknowledged that he was aware of the outstanding warrant issued by the NCCPD.
The officers subsequently took Zavala-Nunez into custody without any incident. He was transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison where he was processed and charged with one count of Fugitive from Justice.
