Kennett Square Man Arrested After Police Investigation

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A resident of Kennett Square has been arrested and charged for having sexual contact with a minor after an investigation by the Kennett Square Police Department.

Authorities state that 25-year-old Jose Garcia-Vega was arrested after Kennett Square Police Officers were dispatched for a report of a verbal domestic dispute. The incident occurred on May 20, 2022, at approximately 12:38 PM, in the 400 Block of Juniper Street of Kennett Square Borough. After further investigation and interviews, Officers determined that Garcia-Vega had prior sexual contact with an individual while they were a minor and he was an adult.

Garcia-Vega was charged with the following offenses:

  • (18) 6312 (b)(1) Sexual Abuse of Children
  • (18) 6312 (b)(2) Sexual Abuse of Children
  • (18) 6312 (c) Sexual Abuse of Children
  • (18) 6312 (d) Sexual Abuse of Children
  • (18) 2701 (A)(3) Simple Assault
  • (18) 2701 (a)(1) Simple Assault
  • (18) 2709 (a)(1) Harassment

He was transported to Central Booking where he was held for arraignment.
