WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County District Attorney’s Office announced that James A. Battista, age 72 of Drexel Hill, was sentenced to 3-6 years in prison after a jury in October 2020 found him guilty of three counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children.

Authorities state the three children who were abused were all under the age of seven and attended Little Friends Daycare in Penn Township, PA, between July 2006 and September 2009. The defendant owned and worked at the daycare during that period.

Pennsylvania State Police and Chester County Detectives investigated. Deputy District Attorney Erin O’Brien and Assistant District Attorney Stefanie Friedman were the prosecutors.
