WEST CHESTER, PA — On Monday, a jury found 44-year-old Yvonne Singh of Coatesville guilty of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, driving under the influence, and related charges, announced Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan.
“Yvonne Singh put many lives in danger with the extremely toxic mixture of drugs she had for sale as well as her blatant disregard for others when she drove a car under the influence,” stated Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan. “Flourofentanyl is an illegal synthetic opioid estimated to be at least 100 times the strength of heroin and responsible for almost 2/3 of overdose deaths in this country. We will not tolerate this poison in our communities. We thank the Pennsylvania State Police for their diligent efforts to keep the citizens of Chester County safe.”
According to information presented in court, on January 3, 2021, Yvonne Singh was pulled over after a Pennsylvania State Trooper observed her vehicle cross over into another lane multiple times and almost strike the center median. After initiating a traffic stop, the trooper observed the defendant to have constricted pupils, slow reactions, and her seatbelt was buckled behind her back. Consequently, a search of the car was conducted. Under the defendant’s seat police found 278 bags of pills that were each a highly dangerous mixture of heroin, fentanyl, flourofentanyl, and tramadol wrapped in twenty rubber-banded bundles, totaling 17.8 grams, and $500 cash wrapped in bundles.
Standard Field Sobriety tests were completed at Brandywine Hospital. The defendant refused a blood test but admitted to taking narcotics approximately 2 hours before.
Singh will be sentenced at a later date. Assistant District Attorney William Buckman prosecuted the case on behalf of the county.
