Coatesville Man Charged in Double Homicide, Murder of Unborn Child

VALLEY TWP, PA — A Coatesville man was charged on Sunday with a double homicide and killing of an unborn child in Valley Township.

According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, the Valley Township Police Department arrested 23-year-old Mamadou Kallie for a double homicide and killing of an unborn child on May 29, 2022. Kallie is charged with two counts of 1st-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, carjacking, fleeing and eluding, endangering the welfare of a child, and related charges. He is being held without bail due to the nature of the charges at Chester County Prison.

“These senseless and tragic murders of two women and an unborn child should outrage everyone,” said Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan. “Domestic violence continues to plague our communities and our homes and its ripple effect has life-altering consequences for too many people. We will do everything in our power to hold Mamadou Kallie accountable for these premeditated, intentional and cold-blooded murders.”

Based on the criminal report, on May 29, at 9:21 p.m., Coatesville Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Mount Pleasant St. After speaking with the victim and Kallie, the scene was cleared.

Thirty minutes later, Valley Township Police responded to an accident and the report of shots fired in the 300 block of E. Glencrest Rd. There they found two females with multiple gunshot wounds and a 22-month-old child in the backseat. One female, who was five months pregnant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second female was taken to Paoli Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The child was uninjured.

At 10:45 p.m., West Chester Police responded to the report of a carjacking at Route 162 and Telegraph Rd. in East Bradford Township. The victim reported that his car was stolen at gunpoint by Kallie. After a police pursuit, Kallie was stopped in Caln Township at 11:04 p.m.

Kallie exited the car holding a gun to himself. Police successfully negotiated a peaceful surrender and Kallie was taken into custody at 11:41 p.m. Police recovered the firearm the defendant was holding which contained a live round in the chamber and a live round in the magazine.

Chester County Detectives and Valley Township Police are investigating. Chester County Deputy District Attorney Erin O’Brien is the assigned prosecutor.
