NEWARK, DE — Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police are investigating an alleged indecent exposure incident reported in Brookside Park on Friday, June 27.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Old Newark Road after receiving a report from a 12-year-old victim and the victim’s parent. According to the victim, a man was standing near a footbridge leading toward Carlisle Road and Cameron Lane when he allegedly exposed himself.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40 to 45 years old, around 6 feet tall with an average build. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts, and a red baseball cap with black stitching. The suspect may also have been in possession of a red bicycle.
Officers thoroughly searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect or the reported bicycle. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit have since taken over the case.
