COATESVILLE, PA — A special endeavor will be passing through Coatesville this Friday. A Pennsylvanian ultra runner, Cain Leathers, is currently treking across Pennsylvania (370 miles) to raise money for charity.

Leathers began his journey on Sunday to run across the entire state of Pennsylvania to raise awareness and financial support for a charity that is special to him. As a suicide survivor, Cain has spent the last 10 years training to compete in marathons and ultra-distance events. He took inspiration from the sport to push him to healthy decisions and a healthy body

“I know what it’s like to be in a world where you feel alone; to not have family around that you can turn to,” said Leathers. “When I’m running, I can be whoever I want to be. There’s no pretending. No hiding; just me and the road and my limitless ambition.”

Leathers is using his experience to motivate others and create a lasting impact with an organization that helps similar youth through difficult situations. Leathers has already raised half of his goal of $5,000 before the run started and is confident people will support over this week. Through the windy back roads and western Pennsylvania and over the hills of central Pennsylvania, Cain will complete this 370-mile journey over the weekend in his home city of Philadelphia at the New Jersey border.

His schedule is tentative, based on the weather, but should arrive early in Coatesville Friday evening, where he will be spending the night at a local hotel before continuing on the path. The community can follow his progress on a site created for this event at www.RunAcrossPA.com.
