Xfinity Outages in Philadelphia: $10,000 in Damage Caused by Vandal Cutting of 5 Major Data Lines

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for vandalizing five major data lines.

Authorities stated that on February 12, at approximately 4:45 pm, the suspect drove a white Ford 4-door pickup truck to the 2700 block of Tulip Street and reportedly cut five fiber-optic data lines. This caused cable service outages affecting 17,000 customers in the surrounding area. The damage caused to the equipment is estimated at $10,000.
