WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department announced it will be organizing a monthly Coffee with a Cop series at locations throughout the city, beginning with an event next week.

Police officers will be visiting Starbucks at 329 Justison Street on Wednesday, January 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. Officials are encouraging customers coming in for their coffee and bakery treats to stop by their table, interact with some of the police officers and pick up some public safety-related information and giveaways.

The launch of this monthly series follows the department’s observance of National Coffee with a Cop Day this past October. Throughout 2023, the Wilmington Police Department states it will organize a monthly event at coffee shops across the city to help provide additional opportunities for the public to interact with officers, ask questions and learn about resources available to the community.
