Wilmington Robbery Suspect Identified and Arrested Within 24 Hours


WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 35-year-old Karl Jackson on robbery charges.

Authorities stated that on December 28 at approximately 9:31 a.m., police responded to the area of 36th and North Madison Streets for a robbery that had occurred.  Police located a 28-year-old female robbery victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.  An area search was conducted for the suspect’s vehicle which was located a short time later in the 800 block of East 28th Street.  Through investigative measures, police were able to identify Karl Jackson as the suspect.  Warrants were secured for Jackson who was taken into custody without incident on December 29.

Jackson was charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony
  • Robbery 1st Degree

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Yong Correctional Institution on $50,100 secured bail.
