WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 29-year-old Rakim Dixon on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
Authorities stated that on January 18 at approximately 1:02 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division were conducting a drug investigation and made contact with Rakim Dixon in the area of 10th and Bennett Streets. He was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators subsequently executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Bowers Street, and recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun, 14.6 grams of crack cocaine, 4.914 grams of heroin, 176.9 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $458 in currency.
Dixon has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Dixon was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $137,100 cash-only bail.
