Wilmington Police Make Fourth Arrest in Connection With Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington Police investigation has resulted in a fourth arrest in connection with a June shooting incident.

Authorities state that on June 21 at approximately 11:54 p.m., police responded to the 2700 block of Northeast Boulevard in response to a shooting incident that had occurred.  Police located a 29-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division.  Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified 18-year-old Arkye Matthews as a suspect.  Arrest warrants were secured for Matthews who was taken into custody without incident on July 22.

Matthews was charged with Conspiracy 2nd Degree.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $4,000 secured bail.
