Wilmington Police Make Arrest in Aggravated Menacing Case: Suspect in Custody

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man following an aggravated menacing investigation.

Zy Lier Carter has been charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing, and Terroristic Threatening.

The criminal complaint alleges that on May 7, at approximately 7:58 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 200 block of Woodlawn Avenue, for a person with a gun. The case was assigned to Detective James Rook of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Through the course of his investigation, Detective Rook identified 20-year-old Zy Lier Carter as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On May 31, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division observed Carter in the 2400 block of North Tatnall Street and took him into custody without incident.

He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
