Wilmington Police Investigate East 8th Street Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The shooting took place in the 600 block of East 8th Street, near a school on Wilmington’s east side, at approximately 3:13 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located a 34-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

Detective Kevin Nolan of the Wilmington Police Department is leading the investigation into this incident. As of now, no suspects have been identified and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The case is still open and further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
