WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) continues its successful Community Resource Fair series with the next event scheduled for Thursday, February 15. The fair will take place at the MSK Community Center on Sycamore Street from 4-6 p.m., offering a valuable opportunity for local residents to connect with their police force and access a variety of community services.

Initiated in 2022 as an extension of National Night Out celebrations, the WPD Community Resource Fairs have become a monthly tradition. They offer residents a chance to interact with officers from various assignments within the WPD, alongside representatives from government bodies, nonprofits, and community service providers serving the City of Wilmington.

Since becoming a monthly fixture in 2023, these fairs have been hosted at several locations across the city, including the Police Athletic League of Wilmington, the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center, and the Latin American Community Center. Parks such as Helen Chambers Park, Cool Springs Park, Haynes Park, Judy Johnson Park, Herman Holloway, Sr. Park, and Joe White Memorial Park have also played host to these community-building events.

The upcoming fair at the MSK Community Center is open to all and free of charge. Attendees can look forward to food and an array of public safety-related giveaways. It’s not just about fun and games, though. The fair serves as a valuable platform for residents to familiarize themselves with the various resources available to them in Wilmington.

Interested partners and vendors from government and nonprofit organizations providing free services to Wilmington residents are encouraged to participate. Pre-registration is necessary, and those wishing to register can reach out to David Karas.
