Wilmington Police Department Responds Swiftly to West 2nd Street Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department announced it is currently investigating a shooting that occurred Friday at around 9:00 p.m. The incident took place in the 1700 block of West 2nd Street.

Upon receiving the report, the police quickly dispatched officers to the scene and identified a 38-year-old male victim who had suffered gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital and is currently listed as being in stable condition.

While the investigation remains ongoing, the Wilmington Police is asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The department has assigned Detective Michael Hayman to lead the investigation, and he can be reached at 302-576-3963.
