Wilmington Police Charge 15-Year-Old With a Gun

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a juvenile on gun charges.

Authorities state that on July 18 at approximately 2:08 a.m., police responded to the area of East Front and Poplar Streets for a complaint regarding suspicious activity.  A short time later, police made contact with a 15-year-old male juvenile in the 300 block of East 3rd Street and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.  The juvenile was taken into custody without incident.

The 15-year-old was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $16,000 cash-only bail.
