Wilmington Police Arrest Newark Man with Loaded Handguns

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 23-year-old Jerry Toston of Newark on gun charges.

Authorities stated that on February 24, at approximately 3:11 p.m., members of the Wilmington Street Crimes Unit conducted a vehicle stop in the 2100 block of Menser Way. Upon stopping the vehicle, 23-year-old Jerry Toston of Newark reportedly fled from the vehicle on foot. Police quickly took Toston into custody without incident. Following a brief investigation, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun, and a loaded .40-caliber handgun.

Toston was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Resisting Arrest

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $12,000 secured bail.
